Dogon medicine cabinets are among the most sought objects of the Dogon art. These cabinets are used by the shaman of the village to store medicinal or magical herbs, roots, and spices. It stands on three legs, two at the front and one at the back and has the head of an ancestor figure at the top. Each piece is authentic and uniquely carved with nomos or animal figures, identical to some of the motifs found on the Dogon doors. They come in different sizes with one or two doors. They make a great display piece on a desk or dresser. The cabinet can be used to store jewelry or special objects.
