Description

Vintage Moroccan Hand-Chased Tray – 95cm (Collector Grade)

This exceptional vintage Moroccan tray was hand-chased by master metalworkers using traditional hammering techniques that predate machine fabrication. At 95cm, it sits in the museum-grade tier of Moroccan trays — a size almost never seen for sale today and produced only by early Fez and Marrakech ateliers.

Every rosette, starburst and geometric interlock has been individually hammered by hand, resulting in a level of detail and symmetry that modern production cannot replicate. The dense, multi-layered border is particularly rare, featuring a sequence of micro-patterns, stepped ridges and early rolled-edge construction.

The tray shows natural age, patina and irregularities consistent with decades of use. These imperfections are part of its authenticity and a major reason collectors seek trays of this calibre.

FEATURES
• Size: 95cm diameter
• Museum-grade scale (extremely rare)
• Fully hand-chased – no machine tooling
• Rolled edge (early fabrication method)
• Dense floral, star and geometric detailing
• Multi-band border with raised ridging
• Aged surface with natural wear and patina
• One-of-a-kind antique
• Suitable for wall display or use on a cedar stand

STYLING NOTES
This tray works beautifully as:
• A statement wall piece in an entry, living room or stairwell
• A sculptural table top on a carved cedar stand
• A hero object in minimalist, Mediterranean, Moroccan or gallery-style interiors
• A collector-grade centrepiece for designers, stylists and architects

PROVENANCE
Sourced directly in Morocco. Crafted using early techniques characteristic of Fez and Marrakech metalworking families during the era before cast and aluminium trays became common.

CARE
Dust with a dry cloth. Avoid heavy polishing; original patina is part of the value.
