Description

Solana Bolga Moses Basket

The Bolga Moses Basket is carefully handwoven in Northern Ghana using time-honoured techniques passed down through generations. Each basket is crafted from sustainably harvested elephant grass, creating a strong, breathable, and naturally textured resting space for your newborn.

Because each basket is made entirely by hand, no two pieces are ever identical. Slight variations in weave, shape, and structure are expected and celebrated — they reflect the skill and individuality of the artisan who created it.

The basket is lightweight, portable, and designed to integrate beautifully into both modern and traditional nursery spaces. Every purchase directly supports Ghanaian weaving communities and helps preserve one of West Africa’s most important craft traditions.

FEATURES

  • Portable — easy to move around your home or take with you

  • Cosy and lightweight

  • Suitable for babies from birth until they can sit up unassisted, roll over, or push up on their hands and knees

  • Handmade from natural materials — slight variations in colour and structure are normal

  • Please read the full safety information below

  • Mattress available separately (optional)

CULTURAL NOTES

Bolga baskets are woven by skilled artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana. The process begins with harvesting, splitting, and twisting elephant grass before the weaving can begin. Each basket takes many hours of handwork, reflecting generations of knowledge, cultural identity, and craftsmanship.
Your purchase directly supports fair income for artisans and helps sustain traditional weaving communities.
